In 1915, our brave ANZACs landed at Gallipoli and sacrificed their lives for the greater good. On Tuesday 25 April, the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club and the Kempsey Bowling Club encourage the community to pay their respects by attending a local Anzac Day service.
The 2023 celebrations in Kempsey will include the following:
Dawn Service
A march will be led from the Kempsey Memorial Hall at 5:20am to the East Kempsey Cenotaph, where a dawn service will be hosted at 5:30am.
Main Service
Those marching will meet at the service station on Sydney Street, across from the netball courts at 10:15am and begin marching towards the East Kempsey Cenotaph by 10:30am.
The Anzac Day main service will begin at 11am.
Anzac Day barbecue lunch
After the service, the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Subbranch, with the support of the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club, will host an Anzac Day barbecue lunch from midday in front of the RSL Memorial Hall located at 1 York Lane, Kempsey. All welcome.
