Freshwater bar & Grill restaurant offers guests a delicious, earthy menu focusing on beautiful local produce and high quality, tender meat sourced from local farms.
Overlooking the Macleay River in Kempsey – our team has taken the time to create a dining experience that pays homage to family, farm and fresh produce.
Kick off your meal with a selection of dressed or natural locally sourced Oysters.

Kids Drop n Dine
Drop & Dine is our service for parents who want to relax, knowing the kids are happy, safe – and entertained, close by! Drop the kids off at Tabatinga, let them play with their friends – and you can enjoy a peaceful dinner at the fabulous Freshwater Bar & Grill.
Drop & Dine is available Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Cafe Fresh at the RSL
Café Fresh delivers a tasty, fresh menu with great value. It’s the best spot in town for a caramel slice after Bingo – or a light lunch with friends.
Enjoy everything from house-made wraps, fresh and tasty salads and the classic ’quiche of the day’ – to tasty treats (including our renowned cakes and slices). We also have larger meals, for when you’re feeling like something that really hits the spot. Our super steak sandwich is always a popular choice!
We also have a huge choice of drinks including smoothies, milkshakes and iced chocolate and of course, coffee.
Open daily from 10:00am, Cafe Fresh is a warm and friendly place, where our members love to get together.
Bowls Bistro
The Bowlo, Kempsey is the classic place for a casual snitty and ice cold schooner.
Whether you’ve just won the big game and want to celebrate with your teammates – or you need a great feed after a game of lawn bowls, the Bowls Bistro has a place for you.
Over the years we’ve had some great memories here – and we can’t wait to make more. The Bowls Bistro is more than just a local watering hole – it’s where the young and old come together to swap stories and share a beer.
Open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 2:00pm and Dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 6.00-8.30pm – it’s a guaranteed great time, with great food.
